In 3 Easy Steps

Tea and Forget-me-nots

Ever wanted to apply furniture transfers but were unsure of the steps?  There are only three!  Here’s what you need to know...

Flat pieces are easiest

Clean with a TSP cleaner. The surface must be clean and dry before applying the transfer.

Step 1 - Clean

1

Most transfers come on several sheets.  You will need to match the seam on any large image.

Step 2 - The Transfer

2

Cut the image to the size you need so that it fits the piece. You can save parts of the transfer that you don’t use by keeping it on the wax backing paper.

Cut around the images

Once you know where you want to put the transfer, remove the wax backing paper. You can’t reposition it after it's placed, as some of the image will detach.

Remove from backing

Use the ruler to rub the transfer to get the image to detach from the plastic. Rub every part of the image to ensure it is securely attached.

Apply furniture transfer

Wipe with a finger or a clean cloth to push down the edges and remove any wrinkles.

Wipe over

You need to seal it to avoid the transfer getting damaged. A water-based sealer is the best way to seal it. Such as a polycrylic like Clear Coat.
